About West Hills PTA

You ask what is PTA? PTA stands for Parent-Teacher Association, a national organization consisting of parents and teachers working together to support and enrich all students. We support school staff, provide additional enrichment opportunities, and assist in efforts to solve school needs through volunteering and funding.

PTA Programs and Fundraising

Our primary objective as a PTA is to provide our school with funds, programs, resources, and services that will enrich and maximize the education of every child attending West Hills. To meet this important objective we hold 1 main fundraiser per year, and several events throughout the year, which provides us with some additional funds. A few programs that we sponsor and/or support:

  • Hoedown in the Hills, Family Game Night
  • Teacher Appreciation
  • WHES Spirit Store
  • Family Picnic
  • End of year talent show
  • Dine-Out Nights
  • International Night
  • Boo-Hoo Breakfast
  • 5th grade party

New ideas for fundraising and events are always welcome!

Wolf Pack Foundation

What is the Wolf Pack Foundation?

The West Hills Elementary School Wolf Pack Foundation is a 501(C)(3) Tax-Exempt Organization.  It was established to raise funds to purchase educational programs and technologies that provide instructional value to our students, and to provide capital improvements to the West Hills Elementary school campus that would not otherwise be available through traditional funding from the Knox County School system.

Why Do We Have A Foundation And A PTA?

The Foundation was established in 2019 to work alongside the PTA in improving West Hills Elementary School. The PTA provides volunteers and programs, but National PTA guidelines limit how the PTA can spend funds. A strong foundation gives WHES the ability to secure funding for the future of the school.

How Does The Foundation Receive Funding?

Making a donation to the general fund, educational fund, or infrastructure fund is the most direct way to support the Foundation’s mission. We also ask that WHES families check with their employers about company matching. Donations are  tax-exempt.  Our EIN is 84-3068253.  Consult your tax advisor for details.
